Aloha from Chef Ochiai
Executive Chef Tsutomu Ochiai, the creator of the famous uni (sea urchin) pasta, rose to prominence in Japan four decades ago for his iconic authentic Italian cuisine. From humble beginnings, Chef Ochiai is regarded as one of the most famous Japanese Italian chefs. Chef Ochiai spent years in Italy, learning in the kitchens of some of the country's top restaurants, before returning to Japan. While in Italy he worked at more than 17 restaurants in nine different cities. In 2020, the Emperor of Japan awarded Chef Ochiai the prestigious Yellow Ribbon Medal of Honor, which recognizes individuals who, through their diligence and perseverance, have become public role models.

The restaurant offers indoor seating next to ‘Alohilani’s iconic Oceanarium, a captivating 280,000-gallon, two-story saltwater aquarium containing a large variety of colorful native Hawaiian reef fish. Enjoy traditional Italian fare accompanied by magnificent views of the undersea world.
